Beginning Knitters
Finished Size: Medium with 19″neckline and upper arm circumference 13″
Materials: 200 grams Patrica Roberts Lambswool 10 Ply (190 yds/100 grams); US 11 (8mm) needle and US 11 16″circular needle; stitch markers; scrap yarn
Gauge: 3 sts = 1″in stockinette stitch on US 11 or size to get gauge

The original pattern includes information on how to adjust stitch counts for alternate sizes. The pattern for the crocheted flower can be found in Nicki Epstein's book, Crocheted Flowers.
Instructions:
With US 11 needles cast on 55 sts.
Row 1: *K1, p1, rep from * ending with k1.
Row 2: *P1, k1, rep from * ending with p1.
Rep last two row for rib for 2″.
Raglan Increases
Divide your knitting into five sections (left front, left sleeve, back, right sleeve and right front) with stitch markers as follows:
Row 1: (RS): K2, k7, yo, pm, k1, yo, k8, yo, pm, k1, yo, k17, yo, pm, k1, yo, k8, yo, pm, k1, yo, k7, k2. (63 sts; 8 sts increased)
Row 2 and all even rows: Purl all sts.
Row 3 and all odd rows: K2, k to next marker, yo, sl marker, k1, yo* rep from * 3 more times, k to last two 2 sts, k2.
Continue raglan increase until the sleeve sections measure approx. 13″across. End with a WS row.
Spilt sleeves and body
Next row (RS): K2, k to 1st marker, move all sts from 1st to 2nd marker onto scarp yarn, k to 3rd marker, move all sts from 3rd to 4th marker onto another piece of scrap yarn, k to last two sts, k2.
Next row: Purl all rem sts.
Continue in stockinette stitch for another 4 rows keeping the first and last 2 sts in knit.
Change to 1x1 rib as on neckline for 5 more rows.
Bind off all sts.
Sleeves
With US 11 16″circular needle pick up all sts from scrap yarn, join placing marker at beg of rnd, and work in 1x1 rib for 5 rnds. Bind off all sts in rib.
